As a large city Milan has of course a lot of markets of different types and sizes to offer for each day of the week, but mostly on Tuesdays and Saturdays.

Some of the most important of markets:

• Mercatone del Naviglio Grande: last Sun of the month, 8-6. antiques, Alzaia Naviglio Grande,
• Viale Papiniano: Tues morn & Sat 7-5, emphasis on (outlet) clothing, very busy, metro 2 St Agostino.
• Viale Fauché, Tues morn & Sat 8-5, fashion, shoes and clothing of the big brands.
• Fiera di Senigallia: every Sat 9-7, mix of everything, flea market, Via Calatafimia at Darsena,metro 2 Porta Genova.
• Mercato di via Lorenzini, open air bazaar, food, furniture, clothes and more, Sun: 9-1.
• Via Armorari - Piazza Cordusio, Tues morn & Sat 8-5, collector's market, coins, stamps, cards, small toys etc.
• Mercato dei Fiori e delle Piante, every Sun (March-Dec), flowers and plants, next to the Duomo.

For fish you may want to visit one of the largest (10000 sq m) and most modern fish markets of Europe, the Mercato Ittico, It is open to the general public on Saterdays from 9.30-11.30 at Via Lombroso 95, It is halfway from city center east to Linate airport. Take Tram 16 till Via Varsavia Via Monte Velino. This market is where all the fish restaurants of Milan and surroundings get their fresh fish.
